Designed to meet with the demand for connectors with higher transmission speed, Hirose FH55 0.5mm Pitch High-Speed Transmission FPC Connector achieves up to 5+ Gbps high-speed transmission and fully supports USB 3.0, PCI Express Gen.2, Serial ATA Gen.3 and HDMI 1.4a.
The FH55 Series features innovatively designed impedance-controlled contacts. Instead of the standard tuning fork shape, the signal contact has a flat structure. The flat structure provides a straight signal path and eliminates any signal reflection. Strategically placed ground contacts between the differential pair signal contacts reduce crosstalk. A special nickel barrier is applied to the contacts to prevent solder wicking. The bottom face of the connector has a special flux path and solder pot to absorb excess flux and solder.
High contact reliability and correct positioning are achieved through the side catches in the internal structure of the connector. Side catches permit accurate guided positioning and increases the retention force. A firm and clear tactile click from the actuator confirms that correct locking of the FPC into the connector has been completed.
